This book focuses on masters and doctoral studies (postgraduate degrees). This is mainly because, over the past 17 years, I have been working with masters and doctoral students and I have been deeply involved in masters and doctoral supervision. This book is divided into 15 chapters, each chapter covering a unique aspect of postgraduate study.

It covers key areas such as importance of postgraduate degree; thinking and planning for postgraduate study; making a university choice for postgraduate degree; choosing a foreign country for postgraduate degree; making applications and admission for postgraduate degrees; applying for postgraduate admission with sponsorship; potential challenges during postgraduate study; handling challenges during postgraduate study; quality research in postgraduate study; student-supervisor relationship; importance of critical thinking in postgraduate study; reasons why postgraduate students fail; path to successful completion of postgraduate etc. The path to successful completion of postgraduate is especially unique in that it highlights key Ps that are essential for success in postgraduate programme. This book is a practical guide and easy to understand for every postgraduate student. It will go a long way to enhance postgraduate study and help students to overcome some of the challenging problems in postgraduate studies. Supervisors will also find the book very useful as it will help them to understand their students better and improve relationship between supervisors and students, promote scholarship and long-term collaboration long after the student has completed his or her masters’ or doctoral study. It is hoped that this book will be a catalyst for various health professionals who are contemplating pursuing postgraduate degree programme but who have not decided. Universities libraries and research institutes and councils will also find this book handy and useful to support their staff who are involved in one kind of supervision or another and their staff who are engaged in postgraduate degree programme.

I would like to thank my wife, Mrs Faustina Oguntibeju and my children: David Oguntibeju, Praise Oguntibeju, Olujare Oguntibeju and Gbotemi Oguntibeju for their support and understanding during the period of writing this book. Special thanks to Prof CE Ochonogor for accepting to write the foreword to this book even at late hour request.
