BP International

PUBLISHING PROCESS STEPS

A brief overview of the main steps involved in the publishing of the Book or Book Chapter or Monograph has been presented here.

1. SEND THE BPI PROPOSAL FORM

First, the prospective author(s) need to complete the , which will serve as an outline of the future Book or Monograph or Book chapter. A Managing Editor will be in continuous touch with the author throughout all the steps and he/she will be the single point of contact. After submitting the proposal form, it will be sent for evaluation to ensure the scientific content and suitability of the topic. Acceptance or rejection of the proposal will be sent within 3-4 working days from the date of proposal submission.

2. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

The author of the accepted proposals will be requested to submit the full-length manuscript, i.e., Book or Monograph or Book Chapter. Based on the book’s keywords and theme, author(s) need to submit the scholarly manuscript. Author(s) should thoroughly check the Author Guidelines and the publishing rules before submitting the manuscript.

3. PLAGIARISM PREVENTION

Book Press International strongly opposes the practice of duplicate publication or any type of plagiarism. The submitted manuscript is screened for plagiarism before the commencement of the peer review process. Book Press International uses plagiarism checking software, which checks content uploaded by the Editorial office against a database of periodicals, the Internet, and a comprehensive database and generates a Similarity Report. If plagiarism is found in any manuscript after an internal investigation, a letter would be immediately sent to all the authors, their affiliated institutes and funding agency, if applied and subsequently the manuscript will be rejected.

4. PEER REVIEW AND EDITORIAL DECISION

All submitted manuscripts are subject to peer review by external reviewers before publication. Author(s) will work closely with the peer reviewers, who will review the book chapters thoroughly, provide comments and suggestions. Author(s) will revise the manuscript following the comments and submit the revised version. The peer reviewers and the Academic Editor will review the revisions.

5. ACCEPTANCE AND COPYRIGHT AGREEMENT

The Academic Editor will ultimately reject or accept the book chapter based on the review comments, the revised version and the authors’ feedback.  If the manuscript is formally accepted the author(s) will receive a letter of Acceptance through email.

After acceptance, the author and the Book Press International will sign an Agreement to accept the Terms and Conditions.

At this stage, the author will be asked to accept the Copyright Agreement.

6. INVOICE PAYMENT

The author(s) will receive an invoice and the payment information after the manuscript is accepted, NOT before that.

The Open Access Publishing Fee of Book or Monograph or Book Chapter depends on the volume of the publication. This fee covers the following services: ISBN assignment, Editorial service, peer review service, Plagiarism checking, Technical editing, Language copyediting, Technical formatting, Proofreading, Cover design, Book layout, Book promotion and Digital Archiving.

The invoice can be generally paid by the author, the author’s institution or the funder if any. The standard payment methods are shown below:

7. LANGUAGE, COPYEDITING AND TECHNICAL FORMATTING

After the payment is complete, the manuscript will be sent for language copyediting and technical formatting. Books/Chapters must be written in good English in a comprehensible and correct style. Either American or British English should be used to maintain uniformity throughout the text. Submitted manuscripts will not be edited for style or language, and the publisher and/or reviewers may reject the manuscript for poor English. Non-native speakers of English are advised to contact International Research Promotion (www.researchpromotion.com) to avail copyediting and language editing services (contact@researchpromo.com). Authors may also contact other third-party service providers in this regard.

8. PROOF READING

The author(s) will receive a typeset proof of their accepted book, book chapter or monograph before publication. At this stage, the author is allowed to check the typing error or minor grammatical corrections. No major correction is allowed. Proof should be checked immediately for typographical errors and returned within 48 hours, to avoid delays in publication. Failed to do so within 48 hours due to some reason, the author(s) must at least mail an acknowledgement upon receipt of the galley proof. In such case the book, book chapter or monograph will be published exactly as received and Book Press international will not be responsible for any error occurring in the published document. The corrected proof is then sent for final typeset and afterwards for online publication preparation.

Additionally, the author will be asked to provide a profile picture and a short summary of the book for the cover design.

9. ONLINE PUBLICATION, PRINT VERSION AND DELIVERY OF THE HARDCOPY

Author(s) can choose whether to publish their book online only or both online and print editions. Extra payment needs to be paid for the print versions. If ordered, print copies are delivered within 12 to 15 working days.

High-quality, bound/unbound, print/e-reprints black & white/ coloured can be purchased for all published books, book chapters and monographs.
